ALTRACOFFEE is a specialty coffee roasting company dedicated to bringing the authentic taste of Ethiopian highland Arabica coffee to the Dallas–Fort Worth community.
Coffee’s story began in Ethiopia, where Arabica coffee trees have grown naturally in the forests of the Ethiopian highlands for centuries. These regions are among the highest coffee-growing areas in the world, with farms often located at elevations between 1,500 and 2,200 meters (approximately 5,000–7,200 feet) above sea level.
The high altitude plays a critical role in coffee quality. Cooler mountain temperatures allow coffee cherries to ripen more slowly, helping develop deeper sugars and more complex flavors in the beans.
Many of the coffees we source are grown above 1,800 meters, where altitude, climate, and traditional farming produce some of the most expressive Arabica coffees in the world.
These natural conditions produce coffees known for their vibrant aroma, bright acidity, and elegant flavor profiles.
