Coffee’s story begins in Ethiopia—the birthplace of Arabica coffee—where it has grown naturally in the highland forests for centuries. These regions, typically ranging from 1,500 to over 2,200 meters (5,000–7,200 feet) above sea level, provide ideal conditions for producing exceptional coffee.
At these elevations, cooler temperatures slow the ripening of coffee cherries, allowing sugars and flavors to develop more fully. The result is coffee known for its vibrant aroma, bright acidity, and refined, complex flavor profiles.
At ALTRACOFFEE, we carefully source high-altitude Ethiopian coffees—many grown above 1,800 meters—and roast them with precision to highlight their natural character and origin.
